Altar Servers

An Altar Server assists the Clergy in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. Teams consist of 4 to 6 servers and are scheduled to serve at Sunday Mass, Holy Days, and other special Liturgies.
Duties include, cross bearer, candle bearers, assisting the Clergy with receiving the gifts at the foot of the altar, assisting the Clergy in the preparation of the bread and wine for the Eucharist, and ringing of the bells during the Eucharistic Prayer.
Those servers in grades 4th - 8th wear cassock albs. High School servers dress is conservative. Young men wear jackets and ties, and young women wear long dresses or skirts below the knees and tops with sleeves.
All servers must attend training sessions in order to prepare to serve on the altar.
